Hi from Sunny Ausi land...
Hi Everyone,
My name is Darren . I live on the Gold coast of sunny Australia. I am new to this build it yourself thingy and quite enthusiastic. I am studying for my CPL IR and as a kid played on apache gunship and other basic flight sims on C64, amiga and early PC's. I got my PPL through the RAF at 18 and have flown about 120 hours in total. I am sick of my job, and want to fly for a living. I really enjoy flying both real and sim's but had been out of the sim thingy sine about 1989 when i last played my amiga. I recently saw FSX on a good home PC and suddenly realised that a simple "game" could actually save me thousands of dollars in real life training . I had no idea how good and realistic it was. I jumped on and ordered my mate to turn all the difficulty levels to max and was supprised at just HOW ACCURATE it was. basically the exact same thing as flying a real AC. With a yoke and pedals it was awesome. I am now going to be building my home cockpit over the next few months and will be asking lots of questions if I cant find them already answered here. Another user called Micheal E. referred me from another forum. Thanks Micheal, this forum seems to be what I have been looking for for months!
OK i'm off to start the harassment ..... bloody video cards are so difficult to understand!!!
See ya

Glad you found your way over.
This is the only dedicated building site on the web. All others have one forum way down at the bottom of the page hardly anyone even sees, let alone participates in.
I refer everyone to this site that asks the hard questions about building.Boeing Skunk Works

Good luck with your project and look forward to seeing your progress as you build a masterpiece. Just hope it is a Boeing.
