PM GA IFR and other network GA gauges

    HELLO EVERYONE !!

You may remember me from Sept 2007 - Jan 2008 ...... I built half of a 737NG pit (Engravity), then switched and built an entirely home made A320 pit ! ......

Well I now have a beautiful 8 month old daughter who is demanding most of my time and cash, but I have this week embarked on a modest, new cockpit project - I am building a C182 pit !!!

Perhaps I should have posted this in the PM area of the forum but there doesn't seem to be much activity there.

I was wondering if anyone has the latest Project Magenta price list pdf ?

I was wondering what they are currently asking for both the GAIFR package, and the GA Glass Cockpit package ?

I look forward to catching up with you all and seeing how everyone's pits are doing!

    Hi David,

I have a list dated March last year but I have to agree with Jack, even with FSX, a fairly good PC today will run multi-monitors smoothly and you can happily drive all your panels and outside view from the one unit, at least that's what I'm doing using all sorts of funky (and cheap) addon panels. RealityXP gives you the added advantage of incorporating keypress functions so you can easily drive the gauges from your hardware. They're also silky smooth.

You're also lucky in that they have at last released the Flight Line T series for FSX which is just what you need. I'm waiting on the Jetline series release for FSX as a great alternative to things like Biz Jets and the PC12NG.

    Thumbs up GA panels

    Hi David,
    Nice to have you back!
    Have you looked at http://cockpitsolutions.com/flyware/
FSexpand is pretty cheap and does most GA gauges.

Congratulations on the 'new arrival' Hope you instill a keen interest in all things aviation as she grows up!
    cheers

Seriously, people are paying that amount of money for the software? Ellie Avoinics looks to be a better option.

    Hi Folks,

    Thanks for the replies.

I do have all the Reality XP stuff - I love them in my normal FS set-up, but for this pit, I want to go with the networked route. (I SOOOO wish Reality Xp would do networked gauges and not just FS gauges!).

I downloaded the networked gauges from peix software ( www.peixsoft.com ) and also the lovely freeware network gauges from www.flightdecksoft.com.

Both are great but seem to have very low refresh rates. The movement of the ADI is stuttery and slow

Contrastingly, I downloaded the PM GAIFR gauges and they were silky smooth. I said I would never buy PM again after my disappointing 700 Euro experience with the Boeing type GC, but if I want smooth networked gauges in my 182, I may have to eat my words.

For some reason, when I run FSX with any more than 1 monitor I get a really big hit in frames, hence why I want to fo with the networked route.

I have not tried the FSXpand stuff, as I didn't realise they did GA gauges too - will check those out !

    Cheers,

    David

Check out the guages from Flight Deck Software

    http://www.flightdecksoft.com/software/

they are free and Jason only asks for donations right now but the guages work just like PM from the standpoint of being able run off a client PC and use WideFS for connectivity. You could definitely get a whole GA IFR panel together and he does have some glass panels as well.
