    S550 Simulator

I am starting to build a Citation S/II simulator. I am pondering the interface selection. At first I thought F-D-T, but then after having a discussion with Ken (kennair), I switched ideas to SIOC with OpenCockpits. He told me that I can just use scripts from others' setups and modify them slightly to fit my respective input numbers. Where would I find these scripts?

The price of the OC cards is nice, but I am wondering if the trade-off of software vs. custom programming is worth it. Is it?

Has anybody in this forum built anything Citation related?

That would depend upon your programming skills.

I'll be using OC soon, but I'm not looking forward to programming.

Well, I think that I will be able to.. Luckily for me, I have the avionics situation (for the most part) sorted out. The Citation series of aircraft are very simple in terms of systems, so that is a plus... I just wish that somebody had a UNS-1 FMS, but that will be out of the question...

Elliot, the best thing to do is search the OC forums for pre-written scripts. Of course the first place to start is Nico Kaan's site where you will learn the in's and out's of SIOC. Unfortunately as has been stated before, OC is great value for money and SIOC is very powerful, but their documentation leaves a little to be desired. But then where's the fun if you have it spelled out for you

You'll probably find a lot of the Lear systems information to be of value to you in the Citation.

I dont know anything about the OC software despitely, however I'm currently writing the tape engine gauges software for my Citation based on Davids Ault tutorial..I'll be sharing it on my site soon..ofcourse you can contact me or David for some hints on how to program your own gauges..it will take sometime as the learning curve is steep but it is a lot of fun and gives great satisfaction...Bthwy their are learjet software in the make based on the Primius 1000 avionics that most of the time fits citations perfectly so stay tuned..and welcome to the small citation builders family

Well, yes I have run across your site, and I was wondering where you got your tapes. For now that may be the best solution and I appreciate your sharing. I think later though I will upgrade to the mechanical tapes.

    Thanks,
    Elliot
