    727 Control Surface Position Indicator

Lately these have all of a sudden been poping up on e-Bay. I'm wondering if there was an auction somewhere in the Midwest with several lots of these being sold.

Anyway, I still consider them very rare as I've not seen one previous to last week in over five years of hunting.

I found out after my last purchase from one of my regular suppliers that he has 26 of these instruments that he's selling for core value to some instrument rebuilder.

He saved me a nice one and I should have it by the first week of January as he's out of town right now. This will fill a hole on the Captain's standby instrument panel next to the engine stack.

I might even be able to get it to work using a servo set-up.

Re: 727 Control Surface Position Indicator

    Hi Michael,

I'm building a 727 MIP too and was looking for this indicator, when I came across this old post of yours. I know it might be a bit late since your post was not only yesterday, but do you still know somebody who sells these indicators? There's one on Ebay currently, but it's in kind of bad condition.
Did you already interface your indicator? And would you have any pin-out or hints on how to connect it?
I also saw your great post on the Sperry SP-50. I bought one I should be getting in the next weeks. Curious to hear the "CLACK" sound

Thank you very much for your help and best regards from Germany,

    Jens

    Jens,

Did you check with Nick from Ailine Pilot Historical Society?

    Go here:

Likely, Nick will have almost anything for the B727.

Re: 727 Control Surface Position Indicator

    Hello.

If you are looking for a control surface indicator. I think I might have one. It is from a L1011...not sure if it is the same one or not.

Also. Nick from the Airline Pilot historical Society, is excellent to deal with. A lot of people get put off because they do not except any kind of payment other than wire transfer, or mailed money order. (no paypal, credit cards etc).

I have had no problems with this whatsoever and have ordered many parts from these guys.

The other good thing about dealing with Nick is that all the money goes into charity.

    Just my 2 cents

Re: 727 Control Surface Position Indicator

    Hello Jim,

Thank you very much for offering the indicator from the Tristar! Unfortunately the indicator is different from the one used on the 727.

But I contacted Nick and he has one indeed

Thanks a lot for your help,

    Jens
