    PMDG Remove Engravity Support

what's going on? i have had several mails lately from guys holding nice engravity cdu's and not being able to hook 'em up because PMDG have removed the interface purchase link from their website. hmmm! please see:
    http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?...=157824&page=3
not nice of them to do that is it?
i see they have also removed support for the GoFlight MCP as well.
and of course CPFlight also have jumped ship by removing the FS9 interface FS_COM version that worked with the PMDG.
do they know something we don't? perhaps it's time to look at another platform.
    anybody know anything?
    regards from wales...... ian

I don't have any juicy tidbits of info, but I do know that many companies are leaving FS9 and going over to FSX exclusively. Could be that's what's happening here. And with FSnext to come soon...

Even if they were going to FSX exclusively, why not just make the interface available?
As far as I know it was working fine so there would be no need to modify it.
I'm wondering if this has something to do with the chief PMDG programmer leaving the company and starting up elsewhere.
I'm sure I've read somewhere that this has happened.

As you know, the www.flightsimlabs.com is an new company, offering also drivers connecting PMDG's aircrafts with 3rd party products, like CPFlight's MCP, Aerosoft's MCP and FlyEngravity's CDU for FSX.
Founder of this company, is Lefteris Kalamaras, who was a PMDG member before.
Maybe, PMDG remove the drivers, because Flightsimlabs, will release also drivers for Fs2004, who knows?

    Time will tell!

"after the fs9 release maybe they are going to support some hardware etc"

The truth is, that is not easy to release a new product, even if they already the know-how about the 737NG.

First the FSX is not the same as FS9, i'm not expert on this, but maybe is more difficult to work with FSX.
Second, they have to release a better product than previous 737NG and not a the same, just working.
Third, all these months the FSX had many issues, (maybe still have them) and the mid-market's PC were not good enough to support good frames, complex sceneries etc.
Fourth, PMDG was working to release the new MD11 and it took many years of hard work for them.

So if you want a good 737NG remain to Fs9, or make a custom one

    Regards

    Eddie

    hi

i have now the problem that i need the pmdg drivers for the engravity cdu.

i contacted pmdg and flight sim labs.

Lefteris wrote to me that pmdg is responsible for the drivers
and pmdg wrote to me that they would not sell them.

    What is wrong with them?!

i think this is a big mess (sorry for this word).
pmdg took the driver out of stock without any sign. And now i have spend a lot of money and nobody can help. pmdg not and flight sim lab not, too.

    that is not ok!

that is a good possibility to scare the costumers.
