I'm going to try and get it. Not for the price he is asking though. His add says that it's worth x amount as scrap, or you can use it for your childs club/tree house? Makes me wonder why he bought it in the first place. If I am lucky enough to get it, I don't know yet what I would part out. If that happens I will let you know.

    Share pricing

    Rodney,

I'm just curious of what his asking price is. Not that I have any interest of purchasing it, but I have a real shell and all the items inside like that, so I just want to judge his price against what I paid. And, this may help you justify buying for yourself.

If you like just PM the price.

    John

I went to have a look at this today. He has no intention of using it for anything other than scrap. I made him an offer and now need to work some logistics out to get it moved. I will now go from a 737 to 727.

It's good to hear of another 727 builder. I may have to use another hand to start counting them on.

But, make really sure this is what you want to fly. No FMC, rudementary AP, analog everything, and no GPS. This is a pilot's airplane and it expects to be flown, not 'monitored'.

Its a 727, and it belongs or belonged to Chad. I know because I looked up the serial number for him. Its a PAN AM: N392PA (cn 20901/1058 ) "Clipper Norseman". In service 1989-1991. The previous Clipper Norseman was a 707.
http://www.airliners.net/open.file?id=0125390 Chad had started a simulator business, but I believe it folded right after he cut the nose off. He sent photos of it during the tear down. I do not now who has it now, but it's out west in the desert last I heard

Yes, good Ol' Chad. Last I heard he is now out of the military and does not have any sim stuff. Seems he ticked some people off. But no matter, I hope he is well. Thanks for that info!

Glad you got it home safely. Looks great.

So great in fact, I now know I screwed up my side window dimensions.

That's the best shot I've ever seen of the side of a narrow body old Boeing.
Wish I'd seen it three months ago.

Re: Does anyone recognize or know the history of this?

    Hey Rodney,

How have you been? How is your B727 coming along? I was just browsing some of my old post and remembered your B727 purchase that belonged to Chad. It be nice to see some updated photos of your pit here in MYC and a few showing that AP you got from me...

    Your friend,

    John
