Write your own Cockpit instrument tutorial

For anyone interested in having a go at writing their own Cockpit Instruments that will interface to the Simulator via FSUIPC / WinFS, I have written a tutorial. See the Download section http://www.mycockpit.org/forums/down...do=file&id=257 or my Software Page at www.learjet45chimera.co.uk.

    Hope you find it useful.

    Cheers

very cool. I might go this route for my MIP on the F-84F. I want to get away from messing with those radioactive gagues in the panel. I figure a 24" LCD behind the panel would fit about perfect to do all those analog gagues for my build.

Dave did outstanding job trying to chop this down for us, but if you have Vista you might be up for trouble. This is what I have been struggling with so far and seem to have resolve it for now:

when following the tutorial and trying to compile the sample source code for the airspeed gauge I found this error under Vista:

gcc.exe: installation problem, cannot exec `cc1': No such file or directory".

I searched for the file cc1.exe, and observed that it was not in the bin directory. It was located in \Dev-Cpp\libexec\gcc\mingw32\3.4.2 so i just copied the files in there into \Dev-Cpp\bin, and now it works...

hope this is helpful... Now I'm trying to figure out the following list of debug error(s), hopefully is just a declaration thing that will solve it all, keep you posted.......

    Awesome Tutorial

I was able to compile the gauge without a hitch in about 10 min...Im a non-programmer but im interested in learning how for the purpose of building gauges...The tutorial shows me how to compile everything but I would like to see, in the code, where FSUIPC is integrated to help me pick it apart.....also how did you get the needle to line up properly with the airspeed background?

If you could just copy the code here so I can look at it that would be great

    Thanks
    John

    thx, that explains why...
I manage to get a step further by putting a semicolon after the FSUIPC include declaration but now it freezes when compiling
