    matrox firmware

Hello, I am Doeke and a new member of this forum.
I decided last year to prepare myself for taken some time
    to hobby.
I choose the fsx and bought a high end computer which I
    modified to the latest developments.
Now I was looking for someone who has more knowledge
to find a solution for my problems from time to time.
Here we go with the first one.

I have 3 monitors 24 inch and a matrox triple digital.
    Matrox announced a higher resolution i.e 3x 1680x1050.
I download the firmware but nothing showed up.
I followed there rules but still nothing.
the grafic card is nvidia gtx280
Also I tried with another card en9800 but nothing either.
Took another matrox and also nothing.
    Have window vista ultimate.
Is there someone who has an idea?

    kind regards,

    Doeke

You are using the DVI cables vice the analog ones right? And you have the Mode Expander Tool is installed? You have to have both the hardware and this software for it to work in widescreen resolutions

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280 is supported
NVIDIA GeForce 9800 cards are supported.
    Matrox TripleHead2Go
    Digital Edition
    Maximum resolution1 3 x 1280 x 1024,
    or 2 x 1680 x 1050
    3 x 1680 x 1050 2,
    3 x 1280 x 1024,
    or 2 x 1920 x 1200

These widescreen modes are only available when TripleHead2Go Digital Edition is connected to the system's dual-link DVI output under Windows XP and Windows Vista operating systems.

    Hope this helps!

What do you mean here: "I download the firmware but nothing showed up." No video at all? When you first configure the TH2Go I connect 1 monitor, load the GXM and configure it, and it forces you to reboot. GXM needs to be in your startup. Also make sure that Vista sees your display at 5040 x 1050 once its rebooted.

    Dear Rodney,

I use TH2Go for a while, so gxm is in the start up already.
Now that I noticed matrox has a firmware to upgrade from 3840 to 5040, I installed this upgrade.
Reboot but in gxm is nothing to see like the 1680x1050
    as given in there example.
It sticks with the 1280x 1024 like before.
Then I removed the whole gxm etc and start again and followed there given rules.
Each time gxm showed up with the 1280 as highest and no
    1680x.1050
    I cannot understand it why!

    Hmm.....

Without the TH2Go connected to your system, and one monitor connected, can you get the OS to configure it at 1680X1050? Then reboot and connect the TH2Go. Other than that, I'm stumped. Perhaps an email to Matrox support will help.

    Yes, i have 1680x1050 and also 1920x1200
After reboot I connected matrox again and the 1280x1024
which is 3840x1024 was the maximum.
So the matrox upgrade is installed according gxm window but it wont show-up with 1680x1050.

There is a big thread on FSX and TH2GO at http://www.widescreengamingforum.com.../index.php?c=8
Maybe you can get some suggestions there.

Let us know if you get it resolved.
