    FSX Aircraft and Keyboard Commands

How does everyone deal with the lack of keyboard commands for add-on aircraft?

I find many highly detailed add-on aircraft lack key commands assigned to all the specialized aircraft systems. I do appreciate the added work to make the aircraft systems as realistic as possible. But, as a sim builder, I am constantly frustrated with the inability to activate the systems unless I use the mouse.

Other the obvious, added work for little monetary return, why do add-on aircraft developers not include keyboard commands along with mouse hot spots?

I have researched, to a small extent, the code needed for a gauge to "see" key inputss. It does not appear to be very difficult to add after the mouse coding, so is there some other reason it's left out?

Sure, there is always Key2Mouse, but I do believe "focus" is an issue with that program.

So, when building a sim and flying with no panels in view or with instruments on a second machine, how do others work around this?

    Thanks!

Key2Mouse is history with Peter's new Mouse Capture function in FSUIPC.

I waited a long time for something like this to come along. K2M wasn't cutting it. If you have to have the panel open for it to work, what's the point of building a cockpit?

FSUIPC solves many problems for unsupported aircraft and mouse-only functions.

FSUIPC with the mouse capture allowed me to have a fully functioning REAL Sperry SP-50 autopilot for my 727 and numerous other functions that were impossible before.

I use the Button Screen Facilities in WideFS and AutoHotKey to turn key presses into mouse clicks.

The problem has been to turn mouse clicks into keystrokes. Not the other way around.

What planet have I been hybernating on!!!!!!!!!

That is an incredible find. Not that I spend much time reading the FSUIPC documentation but when was that feature added?

I did a preliminary test with my payware add-on aircraft. So far I was able to map the mouse hot spots I tried, to a macro. I have not assigned any to a key command or button press just yet.

I was so disappointed that my new a/c did not have custom coded key commands but it does appear that issue is history.

    Many Thanks!!!!!!

Sorry, though he wanted to use the keyboard to control / set instruments that had no key assignments. i.e I press a key and AutoHotKey then moves the mouse and clicks on the WideFS button screen to send the command to FSX on the other machine via FSUIPC/WideFS.
