    Paul,

What FS Variable file are you using for the engine start switch?
    fSVariable431.ini ?

I just checked the ENGINE_1_START_SWITCH and ENGINE_2_START_SWITCH settings with FS Variable Editor.
    These are incorrect.

The following ENGINE_1_START_SWITCH properties need to be corrected:

    Offset: 0892
    Multiplier: 1
    Divisor: 1
    Angle: uncheck
    Discrete value 1 text: START
    Discrete value 2 text: GEN

    Save settings.

The following ENGINE_2_START_SWITCH properties need to be corrected:

    Offset: 092A (not 992A)
    Discrete value 1 text: START
    Discrete value 2 text: GEN

    Save settings.

To get the emulated two-position toggle switch to select the OFF and START positions in MS-FS:

    - Assign one of the emulated toggle switches to the ENGINE_1_START_SWITCH FSVariable.
    - Press the Configure... button.
    - Press the Discretes button.
    - Select Off row in the Assigned Discrete Row list
    - Press the 0=OFF radio button to assign the OFF discrete value.
    - Select On row in the Assigned Discrete Row list
    - Press the 1=START radio button to assign the START discrete value.
    - Press Finish button.

Toggle the emulated toggle switch. The start switch in MS-FS should toggle between the Off and Start positions.

    Regards,
    Alan.

    Hi Alan,

I'm using version 437 I think, whichever came with the latest FS2P install. I will try the recommended approach although in the process of moving the sim into its final position today so cannot give immediate feedback.

Another thought though. FS2Phidget requires a registered version of FSUIPC, n'est pas? I have purchased a license for this but it's not on the machine I was doing the testing with. On that I just downloaded the free version. So now I'm wondering if that would prevent FS2Phidget working correctly. It certainly works for some variables but only one or two out of about 10 I tried.

I think I might just network the test machine to the flight sim machine, and run the phidgets on that using WideFS or whatever its name is. With MyTraffic and Ultimate Terrain installed, I need ever extra frame I can. Do phidgets run ok over a network? Is it transparent if the machines are seeing each other? I.e. do I just plug the phidgets in and configure as if on the flight simulator machine?

    Thanks for your help

    Paul,

Question you are asking is - Does FSUIPC/ WideFS run over a network?

    Yes.

You will need to install Wideclient on same machine as fs2Phidget.
You connect Phidgets to same machine as FS2Phidget.
This is covered in a diagram on the Recommended Landscape page on the Fs2Phidget help.

    Regards,
    Alan.
