Simulated EHAM flight with irl 737 captain
Hi, yesterday was a great day for me. My cousin came over and we ended up in my cockpit. Now I have to tell you (and show off a little ) about him. In Real Life he is an experienced 737 PG/NG captain. And so we did a EHAM flight departing runway 24. But first he wanted to test the brakes and we did an aborted takeoff procedure. Next was a reset flight and a succesful departure with 88% N1. After this we turned west and later on north to circle to the 18C runway doing a double autopilot autoland. Het showed me how to put a 6 mile runway extension in the FMC and the 184 degrees intercept. And much more cool stuff. He was impressed by the level of realism in my cockpit (thanks to Peter , Enrico, Paolo, Robert, etc). The flight controls need improvement as the response to the throttle was a bit too shaky and the stick also had some issues.
And I quickly must add the pushbuttons for the eicas pages to my cpflight mip board as he needed the info. Any way, much to do yet, but nice to get a free instruction and positive feedback.

Hey Kester. Any chance you could get him to join up here to answer some of us 737 Captain's questions? Would be a great asset to the site!
