    Greetings from Miami!

Hello, my name is Bill and I am a Flight Instructor in Miami. I have been playing Microsoft flight simulator ever since I was a little kid and managed to turn the addiction into a career. Needless to say, flying the real thing surprisingly does not take away from the joy I get with simulators.
I am curious if there are any cockpit builders down in Miami that would like to show off their cockpits? I am interested in learning all the quirks with all the products and what works best for what. I sometimes get a little enthusiastic, I just ordered 14 dual rotary encoders for who knows what just yet...
I originally came down to Miami to become an air traffic controller then one day I got the chance to try out a Level D 757 full motion sim at Alteon in Miami. Needless to say that cemented my decision to become a pilot instead. I have background knowledge in machining, electronics, computers, fabrication, etc... I just wonder why I didn't get into it earlier...
Heres a video of my flying the level D 757 sim.

Welcome to the site Bill. Great video.

That's gotta be an experience to remember.

I was on the verge of switching out of Air Traffic Control and becoming a pilot instead. Needless to say, after that experience, well yes, I said, "Screw ATC, I am going to be a pilot!"
Even doing the real thing, I am still addicted to flight sim. As I write this, I am stuck in X04, in Orlando waiting to depart back to Miami in a C172, inside a Hurricane, with no Mode C, with a presidential TFR coming, waiting to hear back with a Waiver to depart into class C with no mode C... Scud run the low ceiling in Class G with power lines near by to pick up the IFR clearence... And if I don't go, well I get to stay in a FBO all day long... This is the last time I do this for the flight school.

For my commercial long X-country I flew a 172RG from KCPS in Cahokia to KEYW. That was an adventure, but I didn't have much bad WX to contend with.

Are you ferrying a plane for the school?

I used to get free time by ferrying the school's fleet up to Alton for radio certifications. They were only 30 minute flights each way, but it sure adds up.
