Using Multiple joysticks on networked Computers

Greetings Captrains, I tried the search function on these forums but did not find the answers I was looking for. I am sure the answer is realtivley simple but still escapes me. I am trying to use a Ch Products Flight Yoke, on a networked computer. My FS9 Server has run out of USB Ports and I am at camp for a month and cannot order a USB Hub. I thougt I had read that this was possible. I am using FS9, and registered versions of FSUIPC (updated) and WideFS. The computer I want to use for the "remote" joystick is working properly, WideFS connects and I can run my usual FreeFD PFD from it no problem. I have calibrated the CH Products yoke, on this computer so I know that Windows 2000 is recognizing it. But when I open FSUIPC to assign the new axis, the new yoke is not "recognized' i.e. no axis shown to assign. What am I missing?

I could be wrong, but you have to use the Keypress 0 - 255 option and add some code in the wideclient.ini file. this will transmit a keypress across the network and can be programmed in FSUIPC.

I am not sure about the AXIS however, I would think it would be similar.

In an effort to Quote a professor I once knew... Read the manual, cover to cover, the information is right in front of you!

I have printed out and read the manual, I am still looking for the "advanced users manual" is this a separate PDF , or is it just not labeled as such in the users manual.pdf?

    Research

I performed hours of internet research last night. First, the back few pages of the FSUIPC Users Manual is the "Advanced Users Section" although I can't see that is labeled as such. I read both this and the Wide FS manual, and still could not find a definitive answer. A little more research, mostly on forums from previous posts ,revealed that Wide FS, nor FSUIPC will allow multiple joysticks on netwoirked computers, as far as I can tell, one needs an aftermarket interface card to do this, one that was mentioned was a FDS card, if anyone knows different, please post.

    Hi,

I dont think FSUIPC is able to treat axes from joysticks on remote computers. The only thing FSUIPC and widefs can do is read the button states of a joystick on a remote computer and send over this buttons to the FS PC where FSUIPC resides. Sorry....
Of course Peter Dowson could confirm this... maybe he newer version is able to do this?

What is possible but I did not try it yet is the following....
run the IOCPserver from opencockpits next to fsuipc on the FS computer
use the program FSREMOTEJOY from opencockpits on the remote computer
this program is made to get joystickaxes to link with the iocpserver and finally FS
===> this should work but I did not use it yet
