    Display light up problems

I made some tests and fond out that specific segment of specific number, for example
#0 is missing left side up segment
#2 and 3 missing middle segment.
The others numbers are ok and the most incredible is the those correct numbers use the same segments position that is missing in #0,2,3 and works fine... like #8 ( its use all 7 segments and light up correct), #6 its use middle segment lighting fine , but not in #3.
No body have any idea what is this ??? I am the only one with that problem.
    Is it a PIC problem.

    Thanks
    Cesar

You should give us more info about the interface that you are using.
What kind of interface are you using? Opencockpits?
How are you driving those displays? With a decoder driver? Are you driving the display directly from the outputs of the board?
    Let us know more.

    Regards,

    Hi Cesar,

Yes, but what can they do?

I can assure you that the design of the system is OK. Lots of people are using it, so do not expect a design-flaw in hardware or a software fault.

There must be something wrong with either the hardware components you have bought (DisplayII card, PCB card, 7-segment displays), or you may have made an error in the wiring, or you may have made an error in the configuration of your SIOC script (Digits and Numbers)...

    Lots of parameters unfortunately.

You have to sort all these things out yourself, I'm afraid...

Tip1: always buy an extra card of each type as spare (Master Card, DisplayII card, PCB holder and 7 segment displays). This will give you the possibility to quickly interchange components to see where the problem is.

Tip2: always buy already assembled and tested versions; the few extra bucks are worth the money.

    Nico
