    I experimented with this technique too but I had only a few instruments that were working with synchros, so I decided to replace them with Simkits.

    Of course it looks more authentic with real instruments but it will be more expensive. Servos, synchros, power supply....

    NOT EVEN CLOSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Servo = 8.99

    Synchro transmitter = 9.99 - 15.00

    Inverter = 30.00 + shp

    Using real gauges versus toy simkits, PRICELESS!!!!!!

    From where do you get the inverter an the synchros? I got my synchros from disassembled instruments...
    And my power supply was a one chip sinus oscillator hooked to an audio amplifier that was adjusted to spit out the 28VAC.

    Do you have a link to a supplier?

    Look in the classifieds section, i have an Inverter for sale.

    Ebay has the synchros.

    By the time i pay shipping, simkits darn near 200.00 per gauge! I have found a way to drive the real instruments 3 different ways fairly cheaply so will not waste the money on simkits stuff. Just my 02cents.

    If you buy them as a kit, they are only half the price...
