    Latest progress

    Hello folks

Finished with floodlight on my mip. All bulbs are 1watt each but will consider to swap for bigger bulbs for the AFDS floodlight strip. And have made sliding window-replica with chartholders. All made out of wood as usual (exept chartholders which are made of metal).

Have some tricky work to below the glarewings now. Very difficult shape to make. But will do my best. When that is done I will start with the mechanism to the yokes. Guess about 2 months work for the yokes. Will put some effort into make the "feeling" as real as possible. Have an opportunity to fly the real sim again very soon and must try to memorise the feeling

The yokes are from Routech and looks great. Checklist plate is from Engravity.

And a couple of flying pictures. Quality time for an aviation enthusiast

Glad you like my work. Mostly based on looking at pictures.

And Trevor, beware, maybe I snatch your windows next time

    Hi Ivar,

    Makes me jealous!

Great work, as usual, and I'm glad that Dieter came through with the yokes - I see the patent Routech mounting method that works really well.

Have a look at the hydraulic dampers to give feel to the columns, also the wire driven pots shown in a post here - that will be my next move, along with some sort of active force feedback.

Guess I will go the hydraulic damper way aswell. Have also thought about getting an adjustable hydraulic steering damper from a motorcycle so I can adjust the "tension"? on the movement. These two items in combination could be a good idea.

The wire driven pots is a great idea. Are they accurate? Do they have the appropriate resistace for interfacing with a joystick controller?
