    A320 dimensions

    hi there,

I've been thinking about building a 'bus sim for a while now, and one of the biggest issue I had was dimensions, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. So after quite some research, trials, errors, and errors again, I've come up with a google skecthup file of what I think is an almost accurate 1:1 scale of a 320 flight deck. Here is the file: http://www.jeehell.org/A320.skp
Now I hope you like the job, and comments are of course welcome, especialy on the height of the 'pit.

    Thanks GJRuben,

I know about this site and its Ok for internal measurements of individual panels.
However the measurements to have a good idea of the shell of the cockpit are
not available there. I'm still looking for this.....

    Peter,

If you combine the data and drawings from this manual "A320 Flight Deck & Systems Briefing"(flight deck - plan view, page 2.3) and the other site? Also there is an A320 Cutaway. The reason I mention this, is because we are talking about the more or less conical shape of the nose and not the cylindrical part of the plane. I hope this helps.

    GJRuben,

thanks for the references to those files. The second link was a site which contains so much info....I did not open this particular file before but for sure it is interesting. But still does not
show more info regarding the measurements of how to get the conical form of the shell
If anyone has something usefull on this... let me know????

    Thanks Peter

Im not sure if this will work for you 100% but it came very helpfull for me, you need a drawing program to open these up, you can get some trial software or free software to open them, scroll down and you will find them, hope this helps

    Serge340,

might it be that you forgot to include some files in the post because I dont know what you are referring at ....
Anyway ... what I have done up until now is that with a program called blender I opened up an A320 file made for flightgear. Then I have exported this file to a file which I can read in solidworks. However, the result is promising but the measurements that I get are scaled.
So I need to continue that way and I'll get there... if spare time becomes available again...
currently im too busy with some other parts of the cockpit which are more important to me...
SO lets see what the future brings ....
Oh this does not take away that I am still collecting all data I can get .....
