    Come fly the metal skies!

This is pretty old but if you like 80s metal, metal culture, A/C or just maiden in general you might get a kick or a chuckle:

Pretty cool in addition to being a lead singer Bruce ****inson is a real life pilot as well.

This really is a cool shot. I did not know Bruce was a pilot....

I am a big Iron Maiden fan since I first heard Run to the Hill's while in the UK 80-83.

My favorite is "Somewere in Time" CD. Got me fired up to power up the Mac a nd jam to some Iron Maiden

Hope they make it down to Kansas City this tour....

Cool to see other sim minded Maiden fans, I'm sure the love of aviation has helped write a few songs for that band like Aces High. I'm only 27 so I'm by no means a first gen. fan but my older bros were both big Maiden fans so I was hooked at a young age. I would list Somewhere in time as my fav. too. Hope you get a chance to catch them on there new tour my bros and I are making the trip to Los Angeles to catch them, there still big as ever and for me, worth the 400 mile drive to see them! They're the Pink Floyd of metal no doubt or is that Dream Theater..... ?

You said the magic words Pink Floyd and Dream Theater. Seen both in KC a few times. I am sure Gwyn will also post in here about his Pink Floyd interest.

(Gwyn something I didn't tell you but have built a music studio while waiting for B777 panels goes into production. Using Mac Pro Quad Core, Apple Logic Studio for software, Kurzweil K2600 and Korg Radias for keyboards, Epiphone Les Paul for Guitar, Mackie 1604-VLZ Pro for mixer, Samson Servo-260 for amp, Bose 601's for speakers, MOTU 828 for interface, Argosy Dual 15.825 console to hold it all.)

I have to work on my web page, WAY out of date.

I guess I just love everything that is vintage.

I'm still using a TASCAM 38-8, 52-2, and an M-1516 console. It has dbx Type 1 noise reduction so recordings still sound pretty sweet. And FAT. You can really push the tape with this.

Oh yeah I've read about his Pink Floyd interests its pretty cool he gets to do what he does, lol the test for my new speakers (music wise) last night was Pink Floyd's Pulse DVD. Man that sounded awesome in 5.1, am I going off topic in my own thread........?

Pretty cool that Maiden's singer not only flies, but flies part time for an Astreus Airlines and not only got a plane from them for the band to use but got them to let him paint it too! There was a UK history channel show he hosted called Flying Heavy Metal where he basically did just that. Of course Iron Maiden arent your typical metal heads (heck consider themselves prog. rock) it just goes to show that sometimes your real career overshadows your true love/s in life.

    Oh boy...

Okay, here it comes...my pre 'post-metal' days!

Back in the day, (aged 14-1 my brother and I would listen to Iron Maiden and being guitar players too didnt help. Floyd, Metallica, Van Halen, Rush, Megadeth, etc... I still have my Jackson King V, but it rarely gets played anymore. Now it's all praise and worship, or traditional Irish music on the acoustic, madolin, irish flute, or tin whistles! Talk about a change!

BUT, that's a great looking 757 (to get back on topic)

I bet Bruce will be flying it himself, since he has a 757 typerating.

When he is not touring he is a F/O for some british charter company.

Discovery europe aired a series called "flying heavy metal" where he was the host and flew all kind of stuff.
