    P.Magenta: Backlighting on CP MCP

    Hi all,

When I was using my CP Flight MCP with the PMDG737, the backlighting on the unit could be switched on/off using the PMDG's Overhead Panel's Dome Light switch.

Or it could be permanently set on or off using the CP_CONF software.

.....However.... With Project Magenta, although all of the functions of the MCP work fine, the backlighting is never activated - even when it is set on, on the MCP_CONF configurator.

Anyone know if there are any other ways to activate the CP MCP backighting when using Magenta?

    Thanks,

I do not know the answer but I do know it has been covered. Just do a search in the forum. You will find it...

    Hi David,

Last I knew the CP Flight MCP was only controlled by the nav lights or interior lights switch from the aircraft your using in flightsim. Pmsystems is controlling that same function with the overhead. So maybe try using the key press on the Aircraft flight model your using.... and see maybe there is a disconnect between pmsystems and the flight model. PMDG I would imagine.

I could be wrong, thats just what I recall.

Bob - I always try a search before I ask but couldn't find anything. I'll take another try though if you're sure it's been covered.

Thanks Trev - I'm not using PMsystems at present, just the PM Glass Cockpit package (PFD, ND, EICAS, MCP and CDU). But I will definately try toggling the default FS controls for the various lights to see if that will get the MCP lights to 'kick in'! ....... I'm now using Kittyhawk 737-700 model rather than PMDG and the Kittlyhawk uses just standard FS functions so hopefully the Nav light key press will do it!

    Cheers!

    David,

What version of flight sim are you using? FSX or FS9?

I have to toggle the wheel-well light switch (on the overhead) to get mine to come on

    Hey folks,

Yip, got it ! I'm using FS9. It was indeed the standard FS NAV light switch! Pressed it, and my CP MCP lit up like a Xmas tree - it's beautiful!

Thanks to all again, but especially to Trev - that pint I owe you if I am ever in Ontario is fast turning into a bottle of finest Irish Scotch!
