Costs for US products shipped into Europe

Hello, I have decided to order an ACE Yoke from the US,
just before I do that, I was wondering if anyone from EUROPE and even better form the Netherlands, has had any experience with
buying a similar product or something for the SIM anyway, from the states and have it shipped over here.
Beside the shipping costs, how much import taxes did you have to pay?

    Thanks a lot

The answer is $ 50 - $ 60 approx. for most stuff shipped via USPS in a medium size box.
But it also depends on the item value, and the insurance USPS are paying . Go to this page and calculate the actual shipping price: http://postcalc.usps.com/
If you have your goods shipped directly via USPS, then you pay 20 % VAT on top of the whole amount ( Price + Shipping ) when you releasing the item from customs office in your country. The VAT % vary from one to another European state. If your goods are shipped via so called “International shipping Program”, then your stuff are transported via multiple carriers , including Customs Agencies. If this is the case, then you pay some $15 - $20 upfront for import taxes and then you shouldn’t pay extra tax when you receiving your goods.
The above is tested and proven for BG and UK and mostly on Ebay. It might be better idea to approach the company which product you buying and ask them for all the details. Register, put the item in the basket, see what will be the final price including shipping and count some 20 -25 % on top of it for taxes.

Also, be prepared for delays, broken promises and no reply to emails from Ace. Their customer service is terrible - just do some searches on this forum and cockpitbuilders. People eventually get their goods, but also after sales service is equally poor.

Just for understanding: the VAT in the US is not in the price. It is just to add the local VAT (in my case 19% in Germany).
    How about customs fees?

    Thanks

Just checked the aviationmegastore site, under hardware, yokes they have 3 ace yokes in stock and they are in the Netherlands, so your shipping should not be too much you will have it in a couple of days and you won't have to listen to ali's b******t for the next 12 months
