727 Engine Display Installed
I have the 12" display fitted into the MIP now. It fit without too much cussing. I had to cut a 1"x 1/8" square of spacer trim I used to bring the center panels up to height, and enlarge two holes to the main horizontal support so the engine panel fasteners would again fit like they were supposed to.
Three Korry indicator lamps had to be removed. Two of the Filter Bypass/Low Oil Pressure indicators, and the Flap Load Relief Korry was removed entirely.
The lamp sockets were removed from the small panel they are pressed into and electrical tape was used on the lamp lens base to bring the diameter back up so they would fit back into the lamp panel. If you've ever seen this assembly you'll know what I mean. It's the same assembly used for the marker lights on a bazillion different aircraft.
Without the bezels in place you can see the panel frame overlap into the instrument holes. It's not as bad when the bezels are in place. I still need to fabricate three square bezels for the top EPR indicators.
I futzed up the panel installation from the shop computer. I don't know where something is supposed to go. FS is searching for a file to load the gauges and I know it's there but it still won't display them. All I get is the black background bitmap, but at least the monitor works and the bitmap displays so it's a start.
I'm probably overlooking something very simple, but I was pretty tired at 2300 by the time I had all of this up and running. Hopefully in a day or three I'll have some engine gauges to display.

A lot of people/pilots will certainly feel nostalgic about steam gauges when they see that....
I do !!!!
Bravo...

I like the fact that the EPR also has a rolling dial display. It makes setting the power very pricise on all three engines.
These are actually from the Probst 727. Someone sent me some gauges , I can't remember who as I lost all of my e-mail when the system crashed a couple of weeks ago.
These are working out fine though. I'm thing of rigging up some tiny rotary encoders to set the EPR limit, though this was mostly used with the PMS system and autothrottle. It still makes for a good reference to set against ambient temperature and density altitude.Boeing Skunk Works

Thanks for the kind offer, but these are little buggers. No more than 52mm wide.
These will be easy to make though. No angled off corners to align. Just squares with a 2" round hole cut.Boeing Skunk Works

Jack, I've been on the look out for some of the bezels for gauges for a while, mostly looking out on ebay - to no avail.
How much do you want for them?
I would finally be able to make my pilot and copilot digital clocks to add to the MIP then. They're far to expensive to get the real deal when it comes to digital clocks for the 37.

Nice work Mike,
I guess you can update your signature photo for us since you now have the engine gauges and seeing you have a new camera. That holes have been bothering me for a long time now.Fritz -> Helicopter Cockpit Builder
