Boeing Techs Upgrade 727-230
My son stopped by to take some photos with his Sony million mega-pixel camera before returning to Afghanistan this morning via Dublin and Frankfurt. I had not seen these photos until this morning when I had to resize them. None have been corrected or otherwise altered.
In five years, these are the first decent pictures ever taken of my 727. I hope you like them as much as I did reviewing them:
Re-wiring and installing Loe Bodnar's input card for the overhead:
Wiring and installing the Control Surface Position Indicator:
Installation complete and re-assembled:
A few nice shots you've never seen before:

Stunning work. It's amazing what a great job a camera does to bring a photo to life.
Great stuff.

A new digital camera is definately in my future. After seeing these, a camera phone just isn't cutting it anymore.
A couple were slightly fuzzy, but I think he had it slowed down a bit to capture the lighting. A faster speed would have likely produced razor sharp images.
Thinking about either a Sony or Canon like he has.Boeing Skunk Works

Brilliant michael. I especially like the second one on the additional photos added on your second post. The quality of the close up of the MIP is amazing. Just like real.
Always nice to have extra handfs helping on the sim as well. Sure you had a good time of simming with your son. (excuse the rhyme)

Thanks! It looks pretty real because it is real. Except of course the instruments.
He was a bit overwhelmed with the engineer's panel and needed a bit of help with the throttles and FO tasks, but overall he landed OK and didn't bend the bird.
Shopping for cameras now.Boeing Skunk Works

In memory of Flt Lt Tony Hill who, on 5 December 1941, at the request of Doctor R V Jones, successfully photographed a small "Würzburg radar" at Bruneval on the French coast. This from a height of only 200 ft, at high speed, under fire and from a camera mounted obliquely behind the cockpit.
