Re: Cockpit-Fest USA updates
Cockpit-Fest USA was a smashing success with a great mix of cockpit restoration and simulator enthusiasts. People flew in and drove from all across the USA.
Friday night the guests were treated to a BBQ dinner with a ramp full of aircraft and cockpits with nav lights and cockpit lights illuminated in front of the museum's historic 1930's airport terminal building. The evening highlight was a tour of the museum's 727-100 which was powered by a ground cart. Every light inside and outside the 727 was turned on.
Saturay evening Steve Blevins enjoyed the grand prize, a biplane Stearman ride at the Stearman airport while the rest of the group snapped pictures of the flight and enjoyed dinner at the airport restaurant.
During the Day the Thunderbirds and other aircraft flew directly over the museum and provided for great photography. Cockpit-Fest USA 2013 is being planned for the spring. We look forward to seeing you there!
