Looking for Gear Supplier
I am building a throttle assembly and need to purchase gears to use between lever and potentiometer. I am looking to use spur gears and have found some sources but they want to much money for simple gears. Does anyone know of a good source for gears. I am looking for a gear set that would give me a 4 to 1 ratio. Thanks
Re: Looking for Gear Supplier
Any size, any ratio, Aerosim Solutions can do. I supply TQ gears to Throttletek.com. AUD$20 per pair + postage!
Cheers Gwyn

Serv-O-Link (www.servolink.com) is a good source, however there is a $30 minimum.
MSC Industrial Supply (www.mscdirect.com) also carries small spur gears. I don't think there is a minimum, but IIRC the S&H charges are a bit higher.

Hey Orlando, Florida, this is Leesburg, Florida. I bought my gears from servolink. Just google servolink and it will take you to their website. I use their gears for making my own gauges. Bought a bunch of them and now I have molds. So, when I need a gear, I mold it. Not the best way, but the gears in the gauges need not be super gears, they do not rotate rapidly or continuously.

This might not work for you but I have salvaged quite a few gears from broken electronics, especially printers.
Re: Looking for Gear Supplier
I dismantled an old laser printer for gears etc. You have to be lucky but it's free.
Re: Looking for Gear Supplier
Thank you everyone for your helpful ideas. I was able to find what I need from several of the web sites you mentioned.
