Made triple rotary's (ADF)
Hi All,
Made some tripple rotary's (ADF) (767-300; Level-d).
Solid axis 3 mm threaded (couln't get flat; no problem).
Hollow axis brass 4 mm.
Hollow axis aluminium 6 mm.
The spring of the lowest (no axis through it) is intact.
The springs of the others are cut and less than one half is inserted on both sides of the passing axis. Cut till they come out of their hole..
The glueing of polyethylene and/or polypropylene is rather difficult, so a great contact surface is desirable.
At the highest rotary this surface is greatly reduced so a tapped 3 mm screw is placed inside for more grip.
1 gnd and 12 poles.
12 poles are on the pcb's connected to 3 poles.
1 to 4 to 7 to 10
2 to 5 to 8 to 11
3 to 6 to 9 to 12.
It's now a simulated encoder which is recognised by OpenCockpits Cards.

Excellent work and thanks for sharing with the community, CNC is great fun and I'm having a great time making parts with my machine...

Re: Made triple rotary's (ADF)
Nice work.
I wish I had the patience to do stuff like that. Maybe once I get the sim finished I can sit down and get stuck into more detailed jobs like that.
