Choosing Monitors and MIP Stands
Okay, so I am getting closer to being able to build a MIP stand and place the monitors in to get ready for the temp. MIP. However, I would like to ask some questions for feedback.
I have the required sizes (I think) for the Pilot/CoPilot sides for avionics and Im sure I wont be able to squeeze my 15" CRT in for the RMUs between the two 17" CRTs. Maybe, but it would be tight. Regardless, here's the situation:
The real Learjet 45 uses CRTs instead of LCDs. Again, I have two 17" and 1 15" CRTs, and I am tempted to try to see how they look but I have to remove the frames off of them.
1) Can anyone point to a guide on how to do this safely (even if it's for an LCD instead)?
2) Should I just wait 'till I can afford the two 17"/1 15" LCDs since they are slimmer/lighter/flat?
3) How dim witted would it be to build a MIP stand for the CRTs, try it, and then repair the MIP and CRTs if it just doesnt work well?
One thing I know for sure is that I cant really judge how well it will work if I dont try it! :-) I just dont want to ruin 3 perfectly good CRTs if I dont like it and want to put the shells back on them.
Thanks,
