Advice Throttle calibration
Hi all,
i need your advice in relation to calibrating throttle detents. I use a Thrustmaster warthog dual throttle where the reversers are well defined via complex joy.
the issue is more the locations and in particular null zones around CLB, MCT, TOGA.
i have set them appart 65000, 55000, 45000 with null zones of +/- 4500.
for several reasons it seems this is not optimal.
FMGS has difficulty identifying the CLB detent. Further I get "Uneven lever location" (cant remember exact warning text) warning all the time.
how do you do it?
Re: Advice Throttle calibration
Hi,
Anyone who can help here?
Re: Advice Throttle calibration
I think the null zone is a bit too big. But no one can really help you, this is too dependent on your hardware...

Re: Advice Throttle calibration
Jean Luc,
I guess the question is really how and when FMGS is programmed to transit from one detent to the next.
say I have the detents at 0, 45000, 55000, 65000 and null zones of +/- 1000.
what happens in the 56000-64000 range?
Further is the Idle-CLB variation made linearly in the 1000-44000 range?
Re: Advice Throttle calibration
The THR LVR work as in the real aircraft. Between each detent, it is a linear variation between the calculated N1 settings of the limiting detents.
This works.

Re: Advice Throttle calibration
I setted the null zone as the manual says: 1000 and i have a good response.
I use a Saitek Throttle Quadrant
Re: Advice Throttle calibration
@JL: Thanks - I guess I have not played around that much with manual throttle to reflect of the range inbetween the top detents.
@assessa: Thanks. I will try going back to +/- 1000. :-) By the way the link in your signature does not work currently.
