I am not able to get the value of the offsets correctly.
Help needed - 45 Degree 8 Step Rotary Switches

Hi all,

The Symulatory MIP kit i purchased was supplied with Rotary switches, but they appear to be 30 degree, 12 step switches, as there are 12 distinct positions when i rotate the spindle.

Looking on Engravity's web site, they supply 45 degree, 8 step switches as part of their electornics pacakage for the various desktop panel kits and not 30 degree, 12 step. I could buy from them, but they want 10 Euro's a switch plus shipping, which seems a little steep.

Here's Engravity's switch:

http://www.flyengravity.com/page/shop/8/2

Here's the list of what is needed for the center panel:

http://www.flyengravity.com/page/shop/14/67

I have found 45 degree, 8 step switches in Sweden and they are 8 Euro's, but they have 2 different kinds from a UK supplier and i am not sure which to buy. One is a No Stop and the other is a Stop version.

Here's the data sheet:

https://www1.elfa.se/data1/wwwroot/a...CK_data_en.pdf

Would these be suitable for my MIP and if yes, is it the Stop version i need or the No Stop?

Thanks for all the help.

Regards
Ben

I'm looking for a little help with SIOC. I have spent the last two days fumbling through the various sources of information on SIOC and my brain is now numb.

I have poured over Nico's site, and understand the process, as well as the verbage and examples.

I am using the PMDG 737NG.

I have figured out how to use "contralador" and have successfully hooked up my landing gear module, indicators, and lever. My outputs work fine through contralador, and the OC Landing Gear SIOC script compiles without an issue.

The issue I am having is that my inputs, i.e. the Gear up and down switches are jittering around like crazy. For instance (I was connected to PINs 0 and 1, and GND 1 on the Input(w/encoder) card. Controlador showed inputs 002 and 007 (I think). It was hard to say because the numbers wouldn't stay still. they jumped up the range from 002 to 007 in the white box.

I tried different inputs with the same result. I attached an SPST switch to an input and the GND and got the same results, so I know it's not wiring.

I fired up FS9 and the landing gear handle kept cycling, along with the lights in tune with the inputs jumping.

It seems like an interference issue. I seem to recall reading something about SIOC and interference in one of the multitude of threads I've read. Couldn't find it again though.

Any help would be appreciated

I have one Mastercard, connected through a USB expansion (using a parallel cable). I am using one output BOB and one input with encoder BOB connected to the MC.

I am running FS9.1, PMDG, and Win7. this is just my testing system. My FS System runs XPSP2. Both FSUIPC and WideFS are registered.

Oh... my +5V is on the pin closest to the parallel port, coming off of a computer power supply.

Here's my sioc.ini:

I have the USB Servo Cards, PM Systems, and the complete set of Overhead gauges from OpenCockpits and after searching, I've only found two of the gauges having scripts written for them. Therefore, as I'm sure others have asked this, but does anyone use the same items for their B737 and has everything working?

Frankly, I know little about SIOC, but I'm trying to learn it. Still, it seems to me that many of us reinvent the wheel many times over and over and over with SIOC. Most cockpits tend to be a Boeing B737 or an Airbus of some type, so sure seems like there would be a place to get these scripts from. Not scripts that people are experimenting with and asking for help on, but one's that work and have been working for quite some time.

Thus, if anyone has these scripts, please post them or PM me. Better yet, if there is some location that SIOC scripts tend to hang out and I can go get them that would be great too.

Hi all...

I have a mixture of FSBUS cards which used to work fine until I blew them up with 12V instead of 5V ! I have FSDISP, FSCOM, FSLED, FSDO and FSKEY where I think the FSCOM and (1) FSKey is NG vintage and the rest are classics. I have tried to fix but can't figure out how to fix them as I'm not a circuit board type...

Would anyone be interested in taking a look at them and fixing ? I'll be happy to pay so if your interested you can reply to this thread or you can e-mail me at JBRoberts7613(at)gmail.com.

Many thanks for your help...JB
