How do I add autopilot to some aircraft?

I'm almost embarrassed to ask, but how do I add autopilot functionality to a non-autopilot aircraft, for instance the P-51 in FSX with acceleration pack?

I'm using Goflight modules and have the physical ability to do it, but I'm not sure how to make certain aircraft respond to it. It works fine with aircraft that have it built in.

    Thanks!

You can edit your panel.cfg to include an autopilot gauge.

    Thanks autocadplease,
I'll experiment with that. My first attempt was unsuccessful, but I'm using the "Remove Virtual Cockpit Parts" option of Wideview so I'm actually not seeing the gauge. That may or may not have something to do with it, but you've pointed me in the direction I was unsure of. Thanks!

This link might help in case you aren't that familiar with the panel.cfg format http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc526956.aspx

Re: How do I add autopilot to some aircraft?

O.k.... Found it. In the aircraft.cfg file there is an option to enable autopilot as well as other paramaters for its functionality. I went into the aircraft.cfg file of an aircraft that already had autopilot and just copied and pasted all the autopilot parameters into the file of the plane I wanted it in. The parameters allow for max climb, bank, rates, etc... so a little tweeking may be necessary to make it just right, but it works great! Thanks!
