Hi!
Iīm new in this forum and I am a cockpit builder from Austria. My A320 is based on the upcoming AST software and so far I have built EFIS and FCU panels based on FDT simboards.
Itīs working well so far using the default FS autopilot except the vertical speed display on my 16 segment displays (Airspeed, heading, ALT and VS). During climb the value is correct but in descent the VS value reads 64364 and other strange numbers - sometimes -104, -1 and something like that - but never the correct value.
So I would like to know if there is anybody who also had the same problem and can give a successful solution for it.
Thanks a lot in advance!
Christoph

Hi Christoph
What aircraft are you using for the flight model?
Have you completely removed the panel files from that aircraft?
It sounds like a conflict between that autopilot and the default autopilot flightsim value's
Best regards,
Trev

Hi again!
First of all thanks for your reply.
I'm using the IFDG A320 model and I have not removed the PSS A320 panel - which I've used before - completely, I still use the pedestal panel of it because I need the transponder panel which is integrated in it.
Now I use the AST glareshield (default autopilot functions) which they have released same time as their PFD/ND displays.
So I have to check if it has gone when removing the panel completely.
Thanks,
Christoph

Hi again,
now Iīve tried it with the default 777-300 - it also doesnīt work. As soon as I dial in a negative VS, the display first reads -0001, then -0104, and then 64364 and other values like that. Donīt know whatīs going wrong here.

Hi Christoph
I think I sent you an Email Regarding this,
-ve vert speed and other stuff is in the process of being fixed. Next week We plan to release the next public build of the software and this will also include library updates. We may also be reviewing PM interaction, by providing a "bare-bones" layout of library to which users can add their own specific functions, rather than us trying to cater for each variation of PM config file out there, and all the variations in offsets for different people's configs is proving a concern.
I trust this is acceptable,

Hi Daren!
Yes, you have sent me an email regarding this and this is really good news - especially concerning the new AST libraries for their FMGS.
Im really looking forward to getting the new build of the software.
Thanks a lot,
Christoph

Hi Christoph,
The -ve VS issue has been corrected in the latest library for FS functions, available now as part of version 1.0r software release. You can upgrade directly from your existing software installation, or by full installation from the Support section of our website.
As soon as AST release their most up-to-date SDK for their new programs, I'll look into adding the extra functions for this software.

Hi CHris,
thanks for your message, but the VS problem still occurs: Instead of
-1800 the display reads -108 and the first digit of the HDG window still disappears. So the negative value is incorrect - what can we try now?
Thanks and regards,
Christoph

Christoph,
You will need to cancel the node action for this digit arrangement, then re-select the FS AP Vert Speed value as the assignment. This will refresh your project file settings with the corrected line from the FS library file.
If still no joy, you'll need to send me your project file to support@flightdecktechnology.com so I can take a look at it for you, as something else will be interfering with the values instead.
Also, make sure you have at least 5 digits assigned for this value to be used (one for the - sign and at least 4 others for the numerics).
