Phidget Encoder Problem

I just received a couple of phidget encoders and was trying to follow example in the fs2phidget manual.
After assigning encoder to ADF frequecy and enabling, when I turn the encoder I get the following error:
"Run-time error 438.
Object doesn't support this property or method" :( .
Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug???
I am using FS2k4 and fsuipc 3.45 and fs2phidget 2.1.0
