Hi, I am building a new flight deck and am looking for a 777 flight model. I
was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what to do. Here are the
problems I am experiencing. I am using FS9 (2004)

With the Meljet there is a problem with the flight model. No matter what I
do, there is just not enough thrust for the plane to climb. I have done
everything accoriding to the instrucitons I believe yet the Meljet model does
not climb.

I then tried to PSS 777 model but ran into the problem of how to use the
patch that disables the MCP, PFD, ND and other controls. The patch seems to be
for 2002 and when I ran it I got a message that it couldn't find the
files. Does anyone know how to use the PSS777 model with Project Magenta?
There also does not appear to be a PSS 777 text file for the CDU that is for
PSS 777 2004. There is only a FS2002 200ER and PSS does not have the 200ER,
it has the 200LR or the 300ER both which has different engines than the
200ER.

I enjoy this software and really appreciate any suggestions on how to get my
777 flight model and CDU file text configuration file.

Thank you as well to Enrico for the many answers he has given me on my set
up.

Many thanks,

Matthew

Hi Mathiew,

just search for "Leon Portman" here in this forum. He uploaded some files for
the new PSS777 to make it work with PM.

Hope this helps

Thank you. This is exactly what I was looking for. Now I just need to
understand the proper way to disable the PSS panels and point them to the FS9
default panel.

Thank you again.

Hi

Actualy this is very simple task:

1. Backup your original panel.cfg in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight
Simulator 9\Aircraft\PSS-B772LR\panel
2. Open in notepad the original panel.cfg
3. Change following line
alias=PSSB77704\panel to
alias=b777_300\panel

It worked perfectly. Thank you so much. You have an e-mail. :)

Hi Leon,

I was noticing that in the text file for the CDU that you did for the 200LR,
there was not a flare parameter like

Flare=25.

Is this not necessary? If it is not necessary, where does the plane get it's
flare parameters from?

Thanks,

Matthew

Hi

Probably it uses some default parameter for the flare.
I am usualy performing manual landing.

Leon,

I flew the PSS 200LR this morning with your 200LR text file and it flew
without incident. Worked like a charm.

I was wondering if you knew where I might be able to get a CDU text file for
the PSS 300ER?

Thanks for your help.

Good to hear.
You can update my 200ER type file with 300ER from the PSS manual. I will try
to find time to do it by myslef.

Leon,

I looked at the manual and yes I do see some of the information but not sure
I could do it correctly as I am pretty new to this.

If you could find sometime in the future, that would be incredible.

We have a mutual friend in Peter who mentioned you. I am doing a pretty
substantial 777 project and would love to connect with you.

Hopefully you don't mind if I e-mail you.

Again, many thanks and hopefully you get a chance to work on the 300ER.

Regards,

Matthew

Leon,

I have merged the PSS flight model with the FS9 777-300 default panel as you
suggested. Everything is working fine except I find that with the default
panel loaded the rear wheels on the plane do not sit flat on the ground.
If you put back the PSS panel, the wheels do sit flat but not with the
default FS9 777-300 panel loaded.

Seems strange but that is what happens. Any thoughts or solution?

Thanks.
