View Full Version : frame and data rates decreasing in recent GC versions

Hi!
I am writing in the name of my colleague Tomek, who is my software test
driver ;). He would like to report the following problem:
GC430 runs at twice more FPS than any following version (actually from 432
up to 436). Also Data Rate decreases to approx 1012 in the last version.
430 works the best and we do not know whether it is temporary problem or
constant tendency. Obviously it it is constant soon we will land at 1fps ;).
COmputer is Celeron 2.2+Radeon9500, so enough to run FS smoothly, not only
few bitmaps of glass cockpit.
We will be gratefull for any feedback about this matter.
Best regards
Michal & Tomek

Hi! Could you send the 430 build to me by mail so that I could do some
testings aswell? I experience microstutters here.

Any updates about this? I haven't observed such drops here... I may have to
add something like an "EKG" for framerates to help check these things.
Also, is other software running on that PC? Is the option UseTimer on or off
in the INI, and what is the FS framerate?
Ciao
Enrico

On that PC is running only GC and Wide FS. UseTimer is OFF, FS framerate is
30.
When I have changed graphic card on GF5200 everything is OK.
Problem is with card ATI Radeon 9500 (I tested different drivers).

Thank you for the update.
So the stutters seemingly come from the driver? Did you try the driver
listed on the Notams page with the ATI card?

I tested:
5-6_xp-2k_dd_cp_wdm_23864 (Recommended)
5-5_xp-2k_dd
5-7_xp-2k_dd_cp_wdm_24085
6-3_xp-2k_dd_ccc_wdm_enu_30895
6-4_xp-2k_dd_31959
There is always just the same:
GC430 runs at twice more FPS than any following version (actually from 432 up
to 436)

FPS are quite irrelevant when it comes to getting data from FS... in any
case, I haven't been experiencing a 50% drop in framerates here.
Could it be an AntiAliasing setting in the ATI which messes things up?
Do you get the old framerate on the GeForce now?
Ciao

Tests on same computer:
ATI Radeon 9500 (drivers 5.6)
GC430 - Fps 56
GC436 - Fps 28
GF FX5200 (drivers 66.93)
GC430 - Fps 86
GC436 - Fps 60
Possible, that radeon is spoiled. I will check other and I will serve
results.
