Hi,
I am also building a Cessna Home Cockpit. It is still very early wip. Also, besides from having no experience at all regarding building and electronics, I don't know a lot about flying. Both are new hobbies for me. I started building last January. What I now have is a cockpit which can be dismantled within a few minutes so I can use my computer for other things than flightsims. Because of this, I had to make a modular cockpit which now consists of four main parts:
- the panel which is on wheel and can be easily moved
- the two side monitors which hang from the ceiling of the room
- the roof of the cockpit which is also conected to the ceiling of the room
- the pilot chair which is on wheels and can also be folded in.

This is how it looks today:

This has to be one of the most immersive home cockpits I have seen. It really looks like you are sat in the aircraft. I would love to see some pictures of your 'mobile' setup.

Great YouTube and cockpit. How did you get the yoke behind the monitor or monitors?

Hi Hugh,
I extended the shaft of the yoke so there is more room to fit the display in between the housing of the yoke and the yoke it self.

Also, I use two ipads and one monitor to display the instruments. The ipads are behind the monitor.

I will shoot a video of the outside of the sim. This will explain the setup better.

thanks, JeDa

I had not considered overlapping the monitors and the radio panel. Thanks.

I do have two 15" monitors (1024x768 ) salvaged from vending machines. Turned sideways 10" wide, 14" high and 1-5/8" thick placed on both sides of the yoke. Will start looking for a 10" USB monitor or tablet for the artificial horizon and DG between the 15" monitors. The instrument layout is a little tighter than one 24" monitor with a hole to pass the yoke. Don't think we're not going to see them anytime soon.

Can't wait for your video.
