Hello everyone,

Me and my friend have decided to utilize an empty room by turning it into a C-172 simulator. Here are a few requirements we have decided on:

Dual Control
Fully Enclosed (to an extent)
No projectors (personal preference)
Just generally as realistic as possible from the interior.

Does anyone have any tips? How should we go about constructing the frame of the aircraft?

Thank you,

JuicyJeff

Hi,
Not really like a C172 shell but ideas.

Fixed it. :)

Not sure how the aviation scene looks in the land down under, but in the US (and quite a few other countries) something as common as a 172 is fairly cheap and easy to come by...there was a guy selling an entire 172 airframe, sans engine, for $2k on ebay just a week or so ago.

I end up getting interested in fancy or oddball planes that are hard to come by (Learjets, Tucanos, Sabreliners...the one-and-only XB-70....) but if I were going to build a 172 sim, I wouldn't even consider fabricating the frame myself. There are too many scrapped/neglected REAL airframes hanging around that I could start with. Give it a thought! :)

Thanks Matt,
Trouble down here is that we don't seem to right them off. Probably not to many private plane ownerships here.
