Hello everyone:

I'm so happy to be here again to discuss my new project. After one year flying, my Cessna 172 simulator have the oportunity of being update moving on into a real cockpit.

Let me show you my current simulator on this video:

Well, inside the airport where i live, i found a abandoned fuselage, is a Cessna A185F and it has been there for almost 15 years abandoned.

Here are some pictures (I dont know why i cant attach the picture, so i leave the link):

Well, i have some concerns about it:

1) If you look the Yoke system, there is not too much space to put a Display there for instruments, so Can i cut the yoke system to be able to put the 19'' display there?.

2) The windshield is so scrath, there is a way to polish? it?.

Well, thanks for your answer and i'll put updates here of my new simulator.

Thanks in advance.

Sweet! You are lucky that it was not rebuilt 15 years ago. My first effort to Crowdsource the manufacture of a monitor with strategically placed 1" hole fell through. Maybe next time. Enjoy and keep us posted.

Hi cptburgos,
I wouldn’t recommend you cutting any real deal mechanical systems,
Especially when it comes to dual linked yoke system, to just putting a monitor
behind – those systems turn out to be extremely difficult to make, when considering
all specific linkage involved, angles, etc. This is my current struggle – to create a realistic dual yoke system for my Cessna sim out of scratch.
Why not starting an entirely new project with some real deal gauges? In case you insist on removing yoke system and using monitors, then disassemble the entire system (yokes, u-joints and Y-shaped centre unit) the proper way ( without any cutting and bending ) and sell them here or over Ebay.
2 The windshield – try to re-upholster it with leather or vinyl fabrics.

Hey fellows , its great that you got this chance .
I wanted to ask ,do anyone in this community has detailed drawing for Cessna 172 skyhawk ?? I am working on this simulation project , at school , and to calculate aerodynamic - stability and control date i need complete airplane dimensions . I am trying so hard to search , still no luck . Some basic data is available but not all details . If anyone has , please could you share ? Thanks in advance .
