I'm not sure which newsgroup to put this on, but here goes:

Does anyone know a way for a non-programmer to use configuration files to
get a different use out of the MTRS button?

Thanks!

David

As far I know the MTRS button is a part of the "hardprogramming" of the
EFIS/MCP Aerosoft driver software. I don't think you can change it.

Btw, Metres indication is necessary above Russian federation and China
as ATC there is done in metres altitudes instead of feet.

Maybe it can be change in the special drivers Enrico has programmed, but
this I don't know.

Ciao

Hi,

I think it can be reprogrammed if you use the direct serial connection, i.e.

do not use the aerosoft driver.

Ciao

Enrico

Thanks, Michel.

That's good to know. I tend not to fly over there, but I could change the
button back when that does happen .

Warm regards,
David

Hmmm, Enrico. Please say where there are docs to show me how to make that
change. There's no reason why I can't plug it into a serial port. I don't

lose performance significantly, do I?

Thanks!

Warm regards,
David

If anything, you gain performance because there is one less consumer on the

network.

No particular docs, just edit the MCP.INI file and set AerosoftComm= to
whatever COM port the MCP is on.

Ciao
