Hi!
Our C172 sim will go for a major update from FS2004 to X-Plane 10. At the same time we will remove old Simkits gauges and start planning Garmin G1000 avionics and instruments. I've previously seen some very pro G1000 projects here but couldn't find them anymore.

Could you kindly help me and send links under this topic. Thank you for your help in advance.

Hi Vectro.

Its great that you are upgrading to XP10 now, it really is a great move, in my opinion the GFX in XP10 really do outweigh those in FSX with enhancements. From my personal experience with XP9 I know that with a few tweeks you can achieve a very realistic flight, although somewhat 'more sensitive' which is why you need to 'null' the settings to 'tame' them.

I know that Steve from emuteq sells the full set of G1000 units for a modest price.

emuteq - Emulation Technology (http://emuteq.com/)

I also agree that the G1000 is the way to go now, I know that more and more microlights these days are kitted out with Dynon lcd's and thats just a microlight (jabi/ctsw etc). I think that now is the perfect time to ditch analogue guages and go all glass as you have suggested!

I think you will be hitting 2 birds with one stone here, and I welcome your changes, its a great move!

Thank you for your encouraging words. I was completely overwhelmed when I had a change to test XP10 last weekend. Finnish scenery designers are also doing super smooth local sceneries for XP10. Check this out:

Forgot to say that I've also seen that Emuteq unit. It looks super smooth. Still, the planning and building is half the fun. :) Said this I don't want to start from the scratch and from this reason I asked some reference projects.

By the way if you are migrating to XPlane then you will need this:

Button2DataRef for X-Plane 10 (mac+lin+win) - X-Plane.Org Forum (http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=13531)

It is the holy grail of programming for xplane (A bit like SIOC) it hooks up all your buttons and switches to xplane.

You may already know about datarefs but it is crucial that you know about them to make a physical cockpit work with XP10

Just my 2 pence!

Vectro, any update on your project. I'm researching building a G1000 using Mindstar Aviation (http://www.mindstaraviation.com/) & FSUIPC, so I would love any inforamtion you have.
