Hello all,

I have been following the discussions here off and on for some time now, and I think it a good idea if I join you. After all, I have been bitten by "the bug" too, and I do not think I will get rid of it soon... So why not make the most of it?

As I say in my profile, I am a retired software engineer, with an interest in sim flying for more than ten years. Only the last few years I have been able to spend some time (and other things...) on building my own cockpit. It is not much to look at for the moment, but plans for extension there are enough! It is to become a "generic Airbus look-alike" single-seater, without sufficient room to fully enclose it or use projection for the outside views. So expect a captain's-side only, not really "as real as it gets", setup, with left side glare-shield, partially-fitted pedestal, and later a possibly almost complete overhead (though this may still take me several years to realize).

I have as yet no website where I can publish details, but I will see whether I can upload some pictures here.

So, for the time being, I will mostly read and digest what is discussed here, and if I know the answer to any question arising, will try to answer it as well as I can.

If all goes well, I attach a picture of my setup as it stands now. I have the woodwork for the pedestal construction in my house, and will begin mounting, sanding and painting within a few days.

That's it for now! Glad to be part of this community!

Hans

Hans, welcome on the block! Nice to have you join the club.

In the top navbar you can see the Photo Gallery, would be great if you can post some pictures there. Who needs a website... :D

Hope the painting goes well.
