Has anyone attempted to use a PoKeys 56U to interface an opencockpits CDU kit?

My USBKeys card that I was going to use on my second CDU does not work and I have a PoKeys 56U laying around. I know that the 56U is considerably more expensive, but... when I add in Shipping and Handling from Spain, it breaks out about even.

I have also been unable to get my LEDs working on my first CDU with USBKeys, so I could get that going easier with the Pokeys card I imagine.

My biggest concern is that I don't want to fry my card by accident.

I use Prosim737 so interfacing the 56U should be no problem (I think).

Thanks for your input!

Hello Warren,

I haven't done any CDU interfacing but I think this thread http://http://www.prosim737.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=932 can help you.

Thanks Wendy.

I have the row and columns assignments for the CDU, and from the 56U manual it appears that the inputs and outputs handle the row and columns. Shouldn't be an issue (I say now).

I believe I can also drive the 5 LEDs from the card (hopefully without using an LED expansion). Is that correct?

Hello Warren,

You can drive leds directly from the card but pay attention the max output is 4 mA, so use a suitable resistor.

If you succeed please let us know.
