I want to change the engine sounds in FS9. Does somebody know how thatīs done?
I found that the engine sounds are composed of several sound files, but I donīt know how they are played within the program. If I have a sound file from a real 737 take-off, as heard on the flight deck, of - letīs say - 2 mins duration, can I incorporate that into FS9?

There are several soundpacks out on the internet. Some freeware, and some payware. I use the package from "Turbine Sound studios". http://www.turbinesoundstudios.com/news.php

I think you are up for a challenge to use the sound recording. But my guess is that you will need to split up that sound. So you will get a small sound file for the various thrust stages. Then rename them to whats in your sound folder, and install them there. Always backup first.

Try to google for a software to mix and edit sounds :)

Hello Choffman, if you want to learn the basis about sound systems for any aircraft, you may be intereste in this article: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-s/library/cc526952.aspx Personally, I use Adobe's Audition to edit sound reconrdings and then incorporate separate files to build a sound.cfg (a file that tells to flight simulator how, when and where each sound must be reproduced). Furthermore, exist a wonderful software from Abacus especially design for this task; it's named FS Sound Studio. Take a look @ http://www.fssoundstudio.com/ Best regards, Sergio Kauffman.
