Who else....Flight Deck Solutions.....

After watching the takeoff of the dreamliner last week, I thought it wouldn't be long before many simmers catch on to the hype of building the 787.

Flight Deck Solutions are certainly going to be producing the parts in time to come to be able to build the 787 and I come across this picture of a complete 787 setup on their website, so I thought I would show you.

Yeah of corse.... more and more the GC is full of big Screens and in the Background a lot of computers and controllers. But the philosophy of both are completly diffrent! On the other hand, both are flying from A to B;)

Would this aircraft not be cheaper to build as there are far less components?

I am talking about making this yourself, NOT buying company panels etc...

The TQ is just like dodiano's but on a box!

That's why I stopped building my 737 and started on a 787. Once pictures of the cockpit surfaced on the net - I fell in love with it!
The big obstacle right now is the software - especially the CDU.

Did you spend a lot of money on your 737? Coz it might be alot of work and money to throw away.....

How far have you got?

Nah...

The front end of a 737 is a much cosier place to be!

The Next Gen's are starting to look pretty old tho.

Had the 737 EFIS and MCP hardware, but I am making good progress on converting them to a 787 by re-using the hardware and making my own panels with my CNC.

I had made my own 737 MIP but that only cost me $50 because I knew someone with a plasma CNC machine.

I have parts galore to build everything else, but was told by a "little birdie" that a 787 project would appear once the 787 flew. So, I put the project on hold. Hopefully, FDS will sell some parts soon.

When my daughter gets her new camera for Christmas I can have mine back and I will post some photos.
