Hi Guys
I have searched high and low for a solution to my problem but yet still no
answersl.

I have a nvidia 8800gtx with the lastest drivers. For those who dont know this
card comes with dual dvi out and a s-video output. My Projector is a benq mp610 with a vga input and s video. The problem is i can only get the s-video to work in black and white( im doing lots of night flight at the moment! haha) as for the dvi i have used the dvi to vga adaptor but the the projector does not pick it up. Is the projector too old for the card or do i need something else like a signal convertor to get this working .

Im really stumped with this and have spent too many hours messying around with it ( losted flying time!)

John,

The DVI - VGA should work.

Are you sure you dont have to set the projector to "VGA" some where in config,
especially aftrer you have been using S-Video?

Some projectors will Auto-detect signal...maybe yours needs to be manaully set?

Hi Nat

Thanks for the reply, the projector does an auto search . If
i try it on another pc ( an older on) it picks it up straight away
it seems to be that the projector is not picking up the signal .??

OK Johnny,

First...I'm assuming you have used the "source" button on your control panel,
without any luck?

If so, then I think the adaptor is not converting digital signal to anolgue...actually
that will be a fact...and therefore your projector cannot accept that digital signal.

I think the best soution is to go back to S-Video. Go into your NVidia control panel
and play with TV settings..My bet is you have to switch to NTSC or PAL or vice-versa...
(S-video is better than analogue anyway)

Good luck...

Are you sure s-video is better? Isn't s-video limited to 640x480?

What about PAL...?

Some times you even have to choose the right country.

@Brian...not sure about res.

Maybe John needs a Digital to analog convertor?

I use a DVI to VGA adapter/connector ($5.00) on one of my video card digital outputs. This plugs into the xga input of my BenQ MP522ST.

Video card is ATI X800xl, WinXP sp2, P4-3.4ghz ,FS9

Might be worth a try.

Hi Ken

I tried that already and still not working. I have a older machine with a ati card and dvi out and when i use the adaptor it works, it just seems to be this card i would even consider buying a new projector but i wouldnt know if it would work either. I have just lost all confidence with nvidia im just stuck.

Thanks

Dont know whether it will help but try installing nhancer - solved my projector / NV card problems... (not the same as yours but just as frustrating)

Cheers

Before I installed the latest video drivers for my 8800gtx and 8600gt cards I saved the settings. After installing the new drivers I reloaded the settings and then I got a black and white main screen and nothing on the projector and the other two screens. Drivers reinstall and new settings solved the problem.

Hi jonnydaz53,

Just a suggestion, but have you tried running the graphics card at the same native resolution as the projector (800x600)??

The projector is pretty low res, so if you are/were running a higher resolution monitor (say 1920x1080) than the max input of the projector (1280x1024), then it won't pick up the signal.

If you can, I would wind back the resolution on the gfx card (800x600) and try connecting via VGA cable to a monitor - check the signal - if that works, then try the projector.

Hope it offers another option to check.

Well Gentlemen Success!!!!

I brought a new DVI-A to VGA and that was it ! simple.. I Guess it was
the dvi - A that was important. I would
like to thank everyone who posted. With special thanks to pilot steve
