I'm having trouble with the gallery, so I'll drop a couple of pix in here for your entertainment. As I posted before, I've begun stage 2. It involves the LCD for the 6 pack and engine instruments and I'm also adding a small radio stack and GPS. I expect this to take some time. So please be paitent with me as I build.
For those of you thinking about modifing your ch Yoke, this is a must see!

In this pic you can see the LCD is mounted in the hole I accidently cut too large... and the TQ pedestal is being built. The radio is mounted and the GPS is sitting on top. Notice the crack in the panel right above where the yoke goes thru. Be very careful of thin sections, they can be brittle. Fortunately this panel is temporary and once I've mounted everything, I'll cut and paint the final panel which will be a nice peice of birch wood.

Inside the red circle above is where you need to place a drop of glue to keep the roll pot mounted or else it will creep out and freeze your roll control.
Notice the zip-tie and the added terminal strip. You need the zip-tie on the front AND the back of the yoke shaft to hold it in place. Tie the retainer rings NOT the shaft itself.

This is my 'new' TQ. Smart observers will reconise it as the TQ that comes mounted on the top of the ch yoke. Remove it carefully and add the extension wires in. I used terminal strips for this because I happened to have them handy and I was tired of soldering. Yes, that is 6 conductor telephone wire and the colors even matched the wires from the yoke!
