View Full Version : Replacing soundfiles in PMsounds?

Hi guys,

I'm trying to get a handle on how to configure PMsounds and replace the original PM soundfiles (some of them are named a****.wav and the rest of them are named n****.wav) with my PMDG 747 sounds in an effort to try and play these sounds through multiple speakersystems.

I've seen some posts here and there that say: just dump your own files in the (PMsounds) folder and off you go. Well, that's what I did but nothing is played anymore.

Standing on the runway and applying full throttle with the original soundfiles makes PMsounds starts playing the ntowarn.wav file (which is correct since
I didnot apply any flaps for testing purposes).

PMDG has a similar soundfile (with a different name though) but that is never played in the same situation. Clicking the Soundfiles button in PMsounds does show all the (new) PMDG files so it has read them in but ever refuses to play them.

Do I need to keep the same filenames, in other words rename the PMDG filenames to the corresponding PMsounds filename or is there a different way to achieve this?
For all clarity: I am only using PMsounds, no PMsystems.

Any hints or tips are very welcome.

Thanks,

Martin

You can replace any PM wav file by another wav file as long as you keep the same PM name.
