Hi

I am in the process of purchasing a curved screen but am being asked what radius, and horizontal/vertical field of view is required. Can someone answer this for me? I am using the FDS shell. My room is 14ft x 11ft. I shall be using 3 projectors.

Usually the rule of thumb I use is a minimum of 10' from the Pilot POV or throttle. I had mine set up with a 16' radius.

Forigve my ignnorance but wouldn't a 16' radius give a diameter of 32'. Sounds huge. I thought the screen should be about six feet to the left, six feet forward and six feet to the right.

Silly me.... trying to come up with numbers and giving out information..... before my third cup of coffee :) :) :) OOPS.

16' diameter would be correct :) with a minimum of 10' from pilot pov. You can fool your eyes of not seeing three D objects (around) 10 to 12 feet.

The brain, our eyes can only sense true depth perception of 10 to 12 feet, any thing beyond that is flat.
