Found this mentioned in the aircraft parts catalogue to drop through my door this morning, but very little details. Nothing on it in the Saitek site, but amazon UK already pre ordering it for 02 May 08.

Anyone seen a review of this? I can find a little bit from a press release, looks interesting but nothing in depth :)

Press Release:
"In addition, in February 2008, Saitek will be launching its new Flight Instrument Panel – a colour LCD screen designed to replicate the instruments used in real aircraft cockpits. One or multiple Pro Flight Instrument Panels can be mounted on the Pro Flight Yoke System to display cockpit instrument panels from Flight Simulatorincluding Altimeter, Attitude Indicator, Airspeed Indicator, Navigation Indicator etc. A supplied Software Development Kit will also allow programmers to develop further interactions with other games."

Yes I did read something about theese about 6 or 7 months ago They showed pictures of them. If anyone has the yoke system it is basicly the same size as the holder that you can place on top of the yoke base. I will try to find that page that i read the review on.

If this can be made to display any gauge it could sell like hot cakes...
No hint on dimensions?

Pictures look more like a fast Photoshop job than a real display....I could be wrong.
But anyway it's a great product...TBC.

If i recall there was not mutch mention of the Pro flight yoke system until it finally came out. I cant seem to find the article i read. but after looking at the pics again i see it is not the same size as the white board that comes with the yoke system. It will be very interesting to see what they are all about when/if they do get released. I wonder if they used the same manufacture that was used for the switches on the yokes maybe thats why they have not been released.

Probably will be since it seems to be part of the Pro Flight System.

And that seems to be a sticking point if it's true; that it must be used with their system.

It would be great to have something like this as a stand-alone display that instruments could be dragged to such as WX radar, or any number of instrument displays.

I saw something about this on the IVAO board and the link is the same posted above, but it doesn't seem to be making much news in the builders circles.

If it's proprietary, that's not good.

As this is just an LCD screen, it might make more economic sence to just purchase a second LCD monitor, and display all your gauges on that. A neat perriferal would be a GPS unit with all buttons, etc.

Just tried out the Panel. Nice little gimmick, but unfortunately only for FSX.

SDK for the panel is available, but i am totaly unfamiliar with programming.

Anybody skilled in that would have a look wheter it is possible to bring it to FS9, too?

Greetings,
