:DHI . Guys.

I'm looking for ideas on how to rail my pilot and co-pilot seats. Something I could build. Perferbly out of wood.

Thanks

piece of thick MDF on floor with 2 verticle rectangles cut out a parallel with each other. Then fit 6 or so caster wheels on the bottom of your seat so they will slide in the drilled out rectangles on the MDF on the floor. To have a stopping point just cut a docking point in the verticle cut outs on the MDF so the casters will just slide in there. cut the docking bit slightly L shaped so it won't slide back into the main movement channel when you don't want it to.

Great Idea.Although, my seat needs to move forewards and backwards. Thanks 737 Gez and NicD. I wish I had a budy helping me. My wife has to listen to me say. "Hey honey, come and see this" O well.

Thanks. All ideas will be used.

Radar, NicD's seat does move forwards and backwards. The seat is on rails which allows the front and back movement and his adapter allows the side movement... Hope this clears it up for ya.

I just left the original rails of the car seats on and used them. If you don't use car seats you could still use the rails from some car seats.

Yeah - as Bob said - forward and back movement is built into the seat mechanism (just like a car seat)
