Hi,

How do you perform visual "circuit and bumps"?

Having read the FCOM, I can understand how you would carry out a visual circuit as part of an approach, but does this also relate to "circuit and bumps"? If so how do you configure the MCDU and EFIS display for an intial take of and then reconfigure for the next circuit?

Is there a prefered weight and fuel loading for circuit and bumps?

Thanks
Andy

Hi,

Sorry...Touch and Go.

My fairly old terminology from real life simulator days dies hard.

Well I have never done TOUCH and Go´s on the Bus they are always Full stop landings!! But basically for the visual approach you simply on the MCDU instead of selectin ILS approach you select the CF (Center Fix) to the desired runway or as you´ll see on your MCDU basically just the 2 number ID for the runway 07... etc... So you select it and you get the Center Fix reference which basically is 5 NM away from the Runway treshold! Also the computer Generates a Descent Path or a ¨visual Glidepath¨ where on your PFD is represented by a Magenta Dot you basically follow that dot Like the Ils and you disconnect the FD´s when on Downwind so that the Autothrust won´t follow the FD´s for thrust settings or you might have very crappy thrust settings on Final! Or you can Follow teh VASI or Papi and you´ll see that the YO-YO or the Dot will perfectly centered just like following the Glideslope also remember to put TRK/FPA for the Birdie you won´t want to use heading but Instead of that TRACK!!

Take care.

Thanks Roberto...

I'll have a go with this as soon as I can get some flying time again. Must admit I hadn't thought of just ading the CF point.
