Some poor quality photos of my sim (phase 1 completed).

Sorry that these are a little blurry (digital camera problems) but you get the idea :)

Looks good!

On a side note, what settings did you use to eliminate the phantom button presses with the yoke? I still get them on 1 switch only. I have FSUIPC set per Pete.

I downloaded the interim version of FSUIPC, and added the two lines, below, to the FSUIPC.cfg file :- (you have to do this!)

[Buttons]
EliminateTransients=yes
PollInterval=50

*These may not be the exact wordings / spellings! ... so check on www.schiratti.com/dowson (http://www.schiratti.com/dowson) !!

Then, you have to delete ALL buttons and axis assignments within FS, and then set up button and axis assignments within FSUIPC!

........and I haven't had a single phantom button press since :) ....the only negative side is that you have to press the buttons a little longer - don't notice much on any buttons - except Trim.

David,

How do you access reverse thrust?

Eric,

On the new Saitek Throttle units (as in the pic), there is a 'proper' detent at the bottom of the axis.

I have this mapped in FSUIPC for the standard (F2) Reverse Thrust command.

Works excellently - pull back throttles to idle, then click through a detent into reverse. :)

Cool....I cant wait till I get the TQ built for the Learjet. Youve gotten quite a lot accomplished in a short time!

Yes a good 'fistfull of throttles' makes a good difference in the enjoyment of the experience.

The Saitek throttles are really great to use - much more resistance and firmness in the axis as compared to my old CH Throttle quad. And now that Peter Dowson has saved the day with his temp fix for the Saitek problems, I am really enjoying both the throttles and yoke. Thank God we have Peter D to save the day and implement a software fix to a hardware defect !

Yes, I am staggered myself at how quickly my phase 1 has come together. (albeit I am also very very skint now!).

My December 'pit addition (let's call it phase 1a :)), is some black curtains to 'wrap around' the entire sim and improve immersion (while I have no shell).

It's a simple little trick that I've seen done on an other sim that works amazingly well.

Last month's spend = £2,800 ($5,500)
This month's spend = £30 ($59)...... oh I forgot the ceiling hooks - 10p each.

It's looking really good. You've gotten a lot done lately.

Keep up the good work. ;)
